TRAIN

Amtrak and MARC serve the nearby BWI rail station.  From there, campus is about 5 minutes away by car.  The best option for getting to campus is a taxi.

PLANE

UMBC is served by three major airports--Baltimore-Washington International (BWI), Reagan Washington National (DCA), and Washington Dulles (IAD).

Baltimore-Washington International (BWI) is the closest option.

  • This airport is about 5 minutes from campus.

  • The best option for getting to campus is a shuttle.  To reserve a shuttle and receive a special discounted rate of $14 ($9 for each additional passenger), click here or call 1(800)776-0323 or 1(410)381-2772, press 2 and say "My profile number is 156094".

  • This just in!  There's a new bus line 99 in that runs directly from BWI to UMBC for $1.60. It started on July 5 so it's relatively new. The drawback is that the schedule is pretty sporadic and sparse.  Details can be found through the link below by selecting 1) Local Bus and 2) Route 99:
http://mta.maryland.gov/local-bus  It generally runs every 30 minutes from 6:23am to 7:53am and from 2:08 pm to 5:08 pm

  • A taxi is approximately $20.

  • The airport is also served by Marlyand Transit Administration (MTA) bus.

Reagan Washington National (DCA) or Washington Dulles International (IAD) are also options but are located approximately an hour away.  For information on getting to campus from either airport, visit the ground transportation pages on their websites.
